A Chemical Incident is the deliberate or accidental release of a toxic gas, liquid or solid that can poison people or the environment. It may initially appear as a Medical Emergency.

Likely indicators are unusual or unpleasant odors combined with physical effects such as dizziness, nausea or an itching or burning or the skin, eyes, nose or throat.

Other signs include more than one individual incapacitated with no sign of physical injury; presence of sick or dead birds, fish or small animals.
